In May 2001, a few of us got together, pretty much at the last minute, to play at Arthur Best's birthday party. We enjoyed it so much that we decided that it might be a nice idea to perform on a regular basis, and we played our first booking at Richmond Court, Ormskirk, on November 28th, 2001.
Being at that point without a name, someone - probably Andrew, but he's not sure - decided that "The Waltons" would be a good name, as there were (a) normally six of us, and (b)we were based, of course, in Walton! Also, any resemblance to the TV series of the same name was purely co-incidental...
As well as lots of good tunes, we also indulge in lots of audience participation, but you'll have to come and see us before we tell you how...
